Tiki disappeared at 8:45 Saturday morning, and by dark we assumed that he was gone for good, although it did not make any sense. The coyotes rarely come by in the daytime, and we hadn't seen any stray dogs or people around, so we were mystified about his disappearance. We spent hours calling and looking around for him. I made up this poster to display in the morning in case someone had picked him up. At 9:30 P.M. I heard him answering my call from somewhere in the cedar breaks near the road. Then, shortly thereafter he just sauntered up to the bedroom door and asked to come in, hungry but healthy. He is sleeping off his adventure today and appreciating some TLC. We have no idea where he spent his day.

Lindenbaum Lunch
An old German restaurant on Main Street in Fredericksburg. The Hungarasche Goulasch was delicious! Bittberger Oktoberfest Bier too!
A & T
A nice man from a retirement center taking a tour toof our picture. There are many more fences since we were last along this stretch -- and fewer roaming cattle.
Willow City Loop
We decided to celebrate our anniversary with a day in the country taking the back road blurbonnet tour between Johnson City and Fredericksburg.

Old Airport
I-35 passes by the planned community on the old airport grounds, with the new Children's Hospital on the lower right. One can still see where the old runways were.
Warrior
An impressive statue at the beginning of Canyon Road of an Indian brave with the coat and pistol of an army calvery officer.

T with John Kerry
I spotted this familiar face in the restaurant. He spoke to us and was very quick witted and gracious. Theresa looked very tired.
