Austin Club
We had our annual APS Christmas dinner at the Club. The food was delicious, the service outstanding and we had a good time.

As we transferred the deck plants to the greenhouse for the winter, A took this day-before-the-first-freeze shot. Winds clocking 39 mph are blowing in the first blue norther of the season today.

Michael flying home
We tracked his flight across 'the pond' to Stockholm. Since he arrives in the morning he will have time to move his stuff back into his condo and rest a bit before going to an Advent Fika (coffee) party Sunday evening. The high there for the day is 13 degrees, so his system will have to adapt quickly from the 82 degrees here.

Library Ceiling
Michael took this picture using a new wide angle lens on his Nikon. It reminded me of the picture I took of the royal hunting cabin ceiling in the Albertina Museum in Saltzburg which we used as a model for our library.
New tent
We bought Michael this 4-season tent as an early Christmas present. A took this picture after he set it up in the meadow. He packed it for his trip back to Stockholm along with some camping gear from our large and ancient supply.

The family went out for barbeque, and Michael took this picture as we waited for the baby back ribs.
Dr. A on TV
A did an interview on seasonal depression this morning at channel 7's downtown studio. She spent most of the time talking about the holiday blues, more common in this area than seasonal affective disorder. As usual, she did a great job.

Heavenly dreamer
Grandma has the magic touch to calm a fretting granddaughter. She slept to the tune of 'Baby's Boat' on A's soft bosom this morning.
Family Portrait
We won a family portrait at a Zach Scott Theater charity auction, and yesterday morning Barker Photography came out for this sitting. As you can see, they chose a spot on the west terrace overlooking the meadow and Bull Creek valley beyond. Six-week-old Evelyn was a perfect subject, wearing a dress we also won at the auction, and wrapped in a blanket knitted by her Grandma.

We rushed home from Dallas in time to prepare the house for a reception for newlyweds Hugh and Anne Wyman and his family.
