I syphoned out much muck and leaves from the bottom of the pond and skimmed off the juniper droppings before refilling it with fresh water. The waterfalls are really roaring now.

Computer and Coffee in Bed
A is 65! And has a new MacBook portable computer to wag around. She saw Anna's last weekend and liked it, and it happened that her loving husband had already ordered her one. She is transferring data from her desktop today so she can take photographs with her Canon birthday camera and upload them to the net. Tonight we celebrate with the Vurises and Wymans at the Four Seasons.

Old Fashioned Weenie Roast
We had the Shanleys and the Wymans over for a swim and a traditional Memorial Day feast: hot dogs cooked on the grill (Nathan's all beef franks, pickle relish, chili, cheddar cheese, and mustard), A's special potato salad, baked beans (not Bush's), potato chips with garlic dip, black-eyed peas (by Pat), watermelon, and apple pie a la mode. Later we had a video chat with EEK (Evie put on quite a show), watched the SA Spurs wallop the Lakers and talked about grandkids into the night.

Lovely evening
After a swim we enjoyed the songs of the mockingbirds, cardinals and warblers, and watched the hummingbirds visit the salvia.
Good help is hard to find
Van cleans up the chaos from a broken rum bottle T dislodged. He is a real trooper.
